An anonymous social media app with room for your identity, too.
Whisperly brings anonymous questions and conversation requests together with profiles, posts, stories and reels. Choose the form of expression that fits the moment.
What makes an anonymous social app different?
On a profile-based social network, people generally connect what you post with your profile. Anonymous features let you participate in certain interactions without displaying that identity to the recipient. The choice can make a small question easier to ask, while your public creative work still has a place on your profile.
Whisperly combines these forms of interaction. It is useful when you want to follow people and share everyday moments, but also want the option to ask a question or start a conversation anonymously. Anonymous mode applies to the feature you select; it does not make every activity in your account anonymous.
Choose the right way to connect
| Your intention | A feature to explore | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Share a moment with your audience | Post or story | Audience and content visibility |
| Publish a short video | Reel | What the video reveals about you or others |
| Invite an answer without your identity displayed | Anonymous question | The Ask Anonymously setting and your wording |
| Start a direct conversation | Message as yourself or anonymously | The recipient's settings and selected message mode |
Public, private and anonymous are different choices
Public and private concern who can see an interaction. Anonymous concerns the identity shown with it. A message can be private without being anonymous. A question can use anonymous mode without guaranteeing that the words themselves reveal nothing about the sender.
For example, a question about a creator's latest reel can focus on their work without including your identity. A question mentioning a conversation only two people had may reveal who you are even when anonymous mode is selected. Think about the content as well as the setting.
Build connections around more than one format
Use a story for a quick update, a reel to show something in motion, and a question to invite a response. If a conversation continues, messaging gives it a separate place. The stories, reels and messaging guide explains how to choose among these formats.
Creators can also use questions as prompts for future posts while respecting what people intended to share. Our creator workflow offers concrete examples.
Understand the boundaries before sharing
Anonymous interaction is not permission to harass, impersonate or share private information. Read the community standards and the privacy policy. Whisperly processes information to provide its service; anonymous mode is not a claim of zero data collection.
