An anonymous questions app for conversations worth starting.
Ask something you are curious about. Whisperly puts anonymous questions alongside profiles, stories, reels and messages, so a simple question can be part of a wider social connection.
Ask anonymously or as yourself
The question composer includes an Ask Anonymously choice. Turn it on when you want to use anonymous mode, or leave it off when you want to ask through your normal identity. Check the setting each time rather than assuming an earlier choice applies.
A question can be light, creative or specific to something a person shared. For example, ask what inspired a reel, what song they recommend, or which skill they would like to learn. The recipient can choose what they are comfortable answering.
Questions that invite a reply
- Ask about shared interests. A book, song or public post gives the other person a starting point.
- Keep one clear topic. A short, focused prompt is easier to answer than several unrelated questions.
- Leave space to decline. Do not demand personal details or treat a missing answer as an invitation to keep asking.
- Review identifying clues. Your wording may reveal who you are even when anonymous mode is selected.
Browse 20 question ideas for friends and creators when you want inspiration. Adapt a prompt to the person and context instead of sending the same message repeatedly.
Questions, messages and stories each have a role
Choose a question when you want to invite an answer. Choose messaging when you want a direct conversation. Use a story or post when you have a moment or idea to share with your audience.
For creators, questions can surface topics their audience cares about. Someone might ask about the process behind a video, a tool in a drawing, or a recommendation in a post. These conversations can inform future content without requiring people to share private information.
How to try it
Open a profile and choose Ask Question where available. Write your question, review the recipient and identity setting, then use the send action. Our step-by-step anonymous questions guide covers the composer and practical checks in more detail.
Anonymous still means accountable to community rules
Do not use anonymous questions for harassment, threats or unwanted requests for sensitive details. Read the community standards for expectations and reporting information. The privacy policy separately explains service data collection and retention.
